Advance border #1
This is a kind of border i use for a lot of my icons and it's really easy. But you can use this tutorial for whatever picture you want.

1. First open and crop your picture. Below is the icon i'm going to use.
2. Make sure you image is flattened to be sure it works properly. To flatten right click on one of the layer and find flatten image.
3. Now select the whole image using the rectangular marquee tool.
3. Now right click on the image and click on stroke. Set your settings to mine, except for the width you can change that if you like.
4. This is my finished picture after i've added a normal black border.
