Making PNG's
A png is a type of file but this tutorial will show you how to cut out a person/oject from the background so the the background of that picture will be transparent.
1. Open your picture. The one i'm choosing is this one below of Lily Allen.
2. Right click on the mini thumbnail of your picture in the layers box in the bottom right corner and click on duplicate layer. If not then your picture won't be transparent.
3. Select the Lasso tool or press l on your keyboard and with it take some big chunks of you picture that you don't want. To do this click on the picture, hold your mouse down and go around wherever you want until both parts of lasso reach each other. See my example below.
4. Now find the delete button on your keyboard and press it.
5. Select the maginifing tool or press or press z on your keyboard, and magnify to about 600 or whatever you want for my picture it's at about 600 or 700, but all depends on what you like and what picture you're using.
6. Now click on the lasso tool again and start selecting little chunks at the edge of your object/person. The reason why you only select little chunks is because you will make a mistake and that way you don't have to redo half your work to fix it.
7. Once you select the chunks remember that you have to press delete to get rid of them.
8. This is my finished result.
