transparent box
Making a transparent box in photoshop is one of the first things i learned how to make on photoshop. It can be quite useful and will teach you a couple of thing if you're more of a beginner.
1. Open your picture, this is the one i'm using.
2. Now click on the rectangular marquee tool or click m. If you click m then make sure it's rectaunguler and not elliptical.
3. Select a part of your picture with this tool.
4. Right click somewhere in your picture and click on fill. Now select the color to fill it with and change the opacity to what you want.
